GHOST QUARTET: The Actor-Musician

with BEAU DIXON and special guest DONNA GARNER

Beau Dixon, star from the intimate GHOST QUARTET musical, will lead a unique musical workshop on how to bring instruments into an audition/performance space as an actor/singer/creator. So many shows are requiring performers to come to auditions playing instruments (as we've all seen for various productions of Once, Beautiful, Company, etc.), but how do we adjust as singer-actors with an instrument in hand and audition confidently? How do we get comfortable playing in front of a panel and how do we marry ourselves to this new part of your rep book? Play together and find out how to navigate being a professional artist.

This class is 90min, once a week for three weeks. Students will have the chance to work one-on-one in a group setting over ZOOM with Beau. At the end of those three weeks, students partipating will have the chance to showcase their work for DONNA GARNER (DORA Winner, Artistic Director: Garner Theatre Productions https://www.garnertheatreproductions.com/) as well as a panel of other distinguished guests. Due to the nature of this format spaces are EXTREMELY LIMITED.

There is also the option to audit this class. Auditors will have to be muted and have their camera off for the duration. Auditing slots are per class, not sold as a bundle.

THIS IS AN ADVANCED CLASS.

TUESDAYS: OCTOBER 13, 20 & 27th at 7:00pm EST

$75 for all 3 weeks ($10 audit/class) - plus HST

SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE: Singing Sondheim

with TESS BENGER and special guest FRANKLIN BRASZ

Tess Benger, lead actress who played Dot in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, will teach a Sondheim-themed musical theatre performance class. Each participant (up to 12) will choose their favourite 32 bars (around 1 minute) piece from Stephen Sondheim's repertoire, and Tess will coach and guide on how to delve into, prepare, examine, audition and perform Sondheim's complex characters. Sondheim just celebrated his 90th birthday in April, and with our Dora award winning and nominated musical, now is the perfect time to dust off this beautiful composer's work.

This class is 90min, once a week for three weeks. Students will have the chance to work one-on-one in a group setting over ZOOM with Tess. At the end of those three weeks, students participating will have the chance to showcase their work for FRANKLIN BRASZ (Director of Music, The Stratford Festival) as well as a panel of other distinguished guests. Due to the nature of this format spaces are EXTREMELY LIMITED.

There is also the option to audit this class. Auditors will have to be muted and have their camera off for the duration. Auditing slots are per class, not sold as a bundle.

THIS IS AN ADVANCED CLASS.
